Dolibarr has officially released version 24.0.0, an update that marks a firm step toward modernizing business management through the native integration of artificial intelligence, substantial accounting enhancements, and a redesign focused on usability. This release demonstrates how open-source software evolves to meet both daily operational needs and current security standards.
As usual, and as integrators of this ERP, we’re breaking down everything this new version has to offer. First, the highlights—though we’ve left the full changelog so you can check it out yourself. But first, a heads-up: we are looking at a major paradigm shift, and upcoming developments look powerful and built with agentic AI in mind.

Artificial intelligence and user experience
The most eye-catching addition is the experimental inclusion of an MCP server and an AI assistant capable of helping write support tickets and performing automatic spell checks. On the UI front, the new Quick Memo module lets you stick virtual post-it notes on any screen so you never lose track of ideas on the go. Additionally, the web portal gains support for interventions and tickets backed by captcha protection, while intervention management forms have been streamlined into a single unified view with drag-and-drop file support.
Finance, accounting, and payroll management
Accounting management in Dolibarr 24.0.0 takes a major leap forward by allowing users to natively switch between cash and accrual accounting. The new multi-report system expands financial analysis capabilities, complemented by a comparative balance sheet that adds technical support for closing snapshots. To streamline visual navigation, product accounting codes on product cards can now be collapsed, and VAT reports feature a quick toggle to expand or collapse tax rate groupings in bulk. Furthermore, profit calculation now includes a condition to automatically exclude issued but unpaid invoices.
In daily bookkeeping, standouts include a transaction template system to speed up recording recurring operations, as well as matching functionality directly on general ledger accounts. Managing sub-accounts becomes much more dynamic thanks to AJAX search integration in lists. After validating any transaction, the system displays a notification with a direct link to the newly created entry. Options have also been added to separate cash sales from general transactions and to link membership fees or contributions directly to invoices, sales orders, or proposals.
On the invoicing, treasury, and export side, customer and supplier invoice lists now feature a visible bank account column. When managing batch payments, users can select specific payment requests to include in a bank transfer and perform mass invoice cancellations using credit notes. In anticipation of e-invoicing regulations, the VAT dictionary adds the einvoice_vate column. Finally, the accounting module introduces default export options and specific tweaks such as Quadra export, which allows exporting only third-party accounts that do not already exist in the target system.
Operations, inventory, and technical updates
The logistics suite undergoes a major overhaul led by full functional stabilization of the stock transfer module and the ability to log zero-value stock movements. For stricter dispatch control, the new optional rule STOCK_EXPEDITION_NO_MORE_THAN_ORDER prevents shipping more than the ordered quantity. Daily workflows gain speed with drag-and-drop functionality on draft shipment and intervention lines, paired with a unified single-view creation form for interventions. Additionally, product category lists now show thumbnails and total stock values, tags/categories have been added to manufacturing orders (MOs) and interventions, and the replenishment screen includes a hook to customize virtual stock logic.
In the purchasing block, highlights include bulk discount management across all supplier lines, adding labels when inserting lines, and including delivery dates within linked object blocks.
Development, architecture, and API
For developers, Dolibarr 24.0.0 boosts ModuleBuilder capabilities, allowing you to specify whether an object handles lines and select which optional tabs (contacts, notes, documents, agenda) to generate. Bulk import workflows gain a CSV/XLSX mode that allows disabling trigger execution to speed up heavy data loads while maintaining SQL compatibility. The REST API introduces new endpoints to query product price logs, create fixed-amount discounts, and utilize count tools.
Technical traceability is also enhanced with a v2 hashing algorithm based on SHA256/HMAC for immutable logs, debug bar backtrace capture on database query failures, single-line log formatting options, and automatic unlocking of cron jobs following unexpected server shutdowns.
Security, authentication, and breaking changes
The platform’s security layer upgrades CSRF protection to level 3 by default, restricts IP access using CIDR ranges, and adds functionality to force user password resets. Automatic user provisioning via OIDC has been implemented, along with personal data (GDPR) flags within the extrafields administration UI.
Regarding breaking changes, API basic login is now disabled by default (requiring Bearer Tokens), Universal Search Syntax is strictly required on all filter parameters across core functions, and legacy modules Paybox and Deplacement have been permanently removed alongside the jeditable library.
Can I upgrade right away?
Short answer: no. We strongly recommend letting an official partner decide when and how to perform the upgrade. Keep in mind that previous versions (such as v23) are still receiving bug fixes, so jumping into an upgrade without professional environment testing is shooting yourself in the foot. Due to API adjustments and changes in filter handling, standard best practice is to validate all third-party module compatibility in a staging environment before touching your production server. If you upgrade on your own without testing, there’s a very high chance several modules will stop working.
